Mavic Mini Drone Review: The Perfect Travel and Beginner Drone

I have recently got my hands on the DJI Mavic Mini Drone.  For many years now I have wanted a drone, and when I saw the Mavic Mini, I knew it was time to begin the hobby.   Due to its immense popularity, I waited almost a month from when I ordered the drone until I received it, and when I got my hands on it, I was immediately in awe.  What an amazing machine!

Now, you have to keep in mind that I have never flown another drone before, so it's hard to compare this to anything else.  Yet, after just one flight with the Mavic Mini, I was completely hooked.  I even had dreams about it!

Before my drone arrived in the mail, I watched a ton of videos and read many articles about drone flight and how to control and use this particular drone.  Watching these videos was extremely helpful, and I would highly recommend that anyone who is thinking about buying this or any other drone to sit down and watch some videos on YouTube (and there are a lot, just search Mavic Mini Drone) to get a feel for the drone and to see how it all works.

I can not say enough good things about the Mavic Mini and echo the many reviews that I watched on YouTube that highly praise this drone.

Having not had the chance to fly the Mavic 2 Pro or other higher-end drones with better camera equipment, the Mavic Mini is all the more impressive to me.  I purchased the fly more kit, with two extra batteries and the carrying case which was better than expected.  Flying is super easy and the drone handles amazingly well.  Taking video and still-pictures in the air is completely effortless and fun.  I love seeing where I am on my phone and have that feeling of flying.

I highly recommend the Mavic Mini.  The small size is perfect.  I can not wait to take this thing with me around the world.  It is super small.  It fits in the hand really nicely and can fit in a large pocket.  The carrying case that it comes in is about the size of a large Bible.  Inside, one can fit the remote, cords, small screwdriver, micro USB card, the drone itself, and the battery pack with three batteries.  It's super easy to throw into a backpack or take with you.  In fact, I have gotten used to taking it with me pretty much whenever I go on a drive or know that I am going somewhere interesting.  It is incredibly easy and quick to set up, take off with, and get some pictures with.  The 30 minute battery time is amazing.  That was the big selling point for me, as many drones in the past have had 10-20 minutes of battery, and that was considered pretty good.

My verdict:  If you want to get into the ridiculously addictive world of flying drones and aerial photography, do not hesitate to buy this drone!
